Starting and ending in Colombo, this itinerary balances sightseeing, travel, and relaxation with comfortable accommodations each night.

D1: Arrival in Colombo and transfer to Kandy (drive around 4 hours). Pinnawala elephant orphanage, Temple of the Tooth, Kandy lake, Cultural show, Bahirawakanda Temple, Oak Ray Wood Carvings and Gems museum. Overnight in Kandy

D5: Bentota to Colombo Galle Face Green, Viharamahadevi Park, National Museum, Gangaramaya temple, Seema Malaka, Old Parliament, Red mosque, Independence Square, Lotus tower, Floating Market (Pettah market), Beira Lake, Kayman's Gate Belltower, Colombo Lighthouse. Overnight in Colombo

Detailed Itinerary


Day 1: Arrival in Colombo - Kandy


Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be driven to the cultural capital, Kandy. En route, visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where rescued elephants are cared for and can be seen bathing in the river. In Kandy, explore the sacred Temple of the Tooth, home to Sri Lanka’s most revered Buddhist relic, followed by a peaceful walk around Kandy Lake. Enjoy a traditional Kandyan cultural dance show, take in panoramic city views from the hilltop Bahirawakanda Temple, and visit Oak Ray Wood Carvings and Gems Museum to learn about local crafts and gemstones. Overnight stay in Kandy.


Day 2: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya


After breakfast, travel through misty hill roads to Nuwara Eliya, famously known as “Little England” for its colonial charm and cool climate. Stop at the scenic Ramboda Falls and visit a tea factory to understand Sri Lanka’s world-famous tea production. Continue to Seetha Amman Temple, an important Ramayana trail site, and stroll through the lush Hakgala Botanical Garden. A visit to a strawberry garden (seasonal) adds a local flavour before heading to the hilltop Sri Bhakta Hanuman Temple, offering sweeping valley views. Return to Kandy by evening for overnight stay.

Day 3: Kandy to Bentota


Depart Kandy after breakfast and journey towards the southern coast to the beach town of Bentota. On arrival, visit the Kosgoda Turtle Conservation Project, dedicated to protecting endangered sea turtles. Later, enjoy a serene boat safari along the mangrove-lined Madu River, known for its rich biodiversity and small river islands. In the evening, unwind on the golden sands of Bentota Beach or opt for water sports on the Bentota River. Overnight stay in Bentota.


Day 4: Bentota to Mirissa and Galle


An early start takes you to Mirissa, where you may opt for an exciting whale watching excursion in the Indian Ocean (seasonal). Relax at Mirissa Beach, then visit the iconic Coconut Tree Hill and Parrot Rock, offering stunning coastal views. Continue to the historic city of Galle to explore the UNESCO-listed Galle Dutch Fort, walk past colonial streets, visit the Galle National Museum, and stop at the picturesque Galle Lighthouse. Return to Bentota for overnight stay.


Day 5: Bentota to Colombo


After breakfast, drive to Sri Lanka’s vibrant capital, Colombo. Begin the city tour with the culturally rich Gangaramaya Temple and the lakeside Seema Malaka Temple, passing by the Colonial Old Parliament building. Continue visiting the Independence Square, National Museum of Colombo and the serene Viharamahadevi Park. After a brief lunch break you will make your way to the bustling Pettah Market, where you will visit the instagram-worthy Red Mosque, Pettah Floating Market and Kayman's Gate Bell Tower. Sip some tea while you enjoy views of Beira Lake, then take a stroll along the Galle Face Green and enjoy the sunset from the Colombo Lighthouse. Finally end the day with a photo stop at the iconic Lotus Tower. Overnight stay in Colombo.


Day 6: Free time in Colombo till Departure


Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and free time for shopping or leisure before your scheduled transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure, carrying back unforgettable memories of Sri Lanka’s hills, heritage, beaches, and vibrant cities.
